Camila Manana

Camila will get tubes placed in her ears tomorrow morning. She has a bilateral moderate hearing loss. The hearing loss is of a "conductive" nature so most likely it is due to fluid in the middle ear which is very common for babies with cleft palates. Immediately after the tube surgery they will do an ABR screening (hearing screening) under sedation. If the hearing loss is in fact due to fluid she should have normal hearing with the tube placement. We are keeping our fingers crossed and hoping for the best for her tomorrow!!

We hope everything went well today. We thought Riley was going through the same thing, but the fluid went away on its own and her hearing is now normal. We hope the tubes make all the difference for Camilla.
