Whirlwind Days

I thought last week would be busy with appoinments (and it was....) but this week is even crazier. Last Monday Camila had an Echo Cardiogram and an EKG, both came back with good results. Three months ago the cardiologist discovered that she has a tightening of her pulmonary valve, which is called pulmonary stenosis. This is a common finding for kids who have Wolf Hirschhorn Syndrome, but the weird thing was that he hadn't found it in her very first Echo. This last Echo showed that it hasn't changed (meaning it hasn't gotten worse), which is good news. He said if it doesn't worsen in her first year of life most likely it won't need to be repaired for a few years. Camila also has an ASD (Atrial Septal Defect); this is also very common with WHS kids. The hope is that it will close on it's own. It is so tiny at this point that it doesn't really effect her. We also got the news this week that she weighs 10 pounds 10 ounces! She is in the 50% for her age in weight and head and 90% for height on the Wolf Hirschhorn Syndrome growth chart (so thankful we have this growth chart!). Yay Camila!
